Chapter One
"Mum! I can't stand him, and you know it!" James Potter shrieked incorherently at his mother.
"James, have you ever heard of decency to your fellow man?" His mother, Elizabeth, shouted out.
" 'Fellow man'? But, he's a Slytherin!" James looked ready to keel over.
"All the more reason to show a little dignity around him..." She said sternly.
That was this morning, not that the time period matters, but all the same this was why James Potter was to be found sulking on Platform 9 and 3/4s.
"James!" a very familiar voice called out...
James shook his unruly hair ou of his pouting face and saw...
"Sirius! Wow...you grew!" Jame's eyes widen.
"Of course! What did you expect? We are in our last year after all..." He thumps Jame's arm...
"But you'll always be a midget, mate." He pronouced solemnly.
"Shut up..." came the half hearted reply.
So, with that, they boarded the Hogwarts Express.
"Where's Moony?" James asked quietly.
"Sleeping, I expect. You know how trains lull him to sleep."
As they pushed open a compartment door they saw their wolfish friend indeed napping peacefully. Sirius looked over at James and gave a signal that they had all learned in their first year. The particular signal in question, simply meant "Get him."
A moment later, Remus awakens with a yelp, for having two fully grown teenagers pounce on you is no laughing matter.
"Ugh! James? When did you get here?" Remus asked foggily, aka he was still asleep mentally.
"I've always been here. You know I am just a figment of your imagination." James said in a misty whisper.
"Huh?" Remus supplied.
Sirius however thought, for once, James's joke was in bad taste and thumped him promptly over the head. You see, Remus use to have nightmares that everyone would leave him because of his condition. That is, before he met Padfoot, Prongs and Wormtail.
"By the way, where is Wormtail?" Sirius asked in hopes of changing the subject.
All of the sudden a cackle is heard from outside of the compartment followed by a cry of pain.
"Peter." they all say before running outside to help.
As they turned a corner they came face to face with "them."
